Notification of Mae Fah Luang University Postgraduate Scholarship for Tuition Fees

for Academic Year 2021

     Mae Fah Luang University has allocated funds to support tuition fees for graduate students for academic year 2020 in order to encourage and support those with excellent academic records and high potential to apply to graduate school at MFU.

     Mae Fah Luang University also aims to promote publication of high quality research which is beneficial and brings international distinction to the university by providing scholarships to support the tuition fees for Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree according to the applied programme from the semester that the scholarship is approved to the last semester of the programme. The details of the scholarship application are as follows:

 

1. Eligible Applicants

        1.1  The scholarship applicants must be students or eligible candidates of
the university’s Master’s/Doctoral programme that requires completion of a thesis/dissertation.

        1.2  The scholarship applicants must have following qualifications:

             (1)   The scholarship applicants applying for Master’s Degree must have a GPAX in their Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3.00.

             (2)   The scholarship applicants applying for Doctoral Degree from their Bachelor’s Degree must have a GPAX of at least 3.25.

             Applicants with a GPAX lower than 3.25 but not below 3.00 must have a publication or an awarded academic work at the national/international level.

             (3)   The scholarship applicants applying for Doctoral Degree from their Master’s Degree must meet either of the following conditions:

                     (a)   The scholarship applicants must have a GPAX from their Master’s Degree of at least 3.50.

                     (b)  The scholarship applicants must have a publication in a journal that appears in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) or Web of Science (ISI) in Q1 or Q2.

             (4)   The scholarship applicants must have a topic for their thesis/dissertation.

 

2. Qualifications of Advisors

        2.1  The main advisor must be a permanent lecturer of the university in the curriculum that the applicant is applying for.

        2.2  The main advisor must have at least 2 publications in the past five years in journals that appear in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) or Web of Science (ISI) in Q1 or Q2 and
the publications must not be part of the advisor’s degree fulfillment.

        2.3  The total number of advisees under the main advisor’s supervision including
the applicants must not exceed the criteria specified in Mae Fah Luang University’s Regulations on Graduate Studies.

        2.4  The main advisor has never supervised any scholarship recipients who violated the scholarship’s conditions.

        2.5  The co-advisor must be on duty in a foreign country.

 

3. Enclosed Documents

        3.1  Applicants

              (1)   The Postgraduate Scholarship for Tuition Fees Application Form with a 1-inch photograph

              (2)   A certified copy of the national ID card/ passport

              (3)   A certified copy of the house registration

              (4)   A certified copy of the graduation certificate

              (5)   An academic transcript

              (6)   Copy of publications (If any)

              (7)   Awards (If any)

       3.2  Advisors

              (1)   A CV (co-advisor)

              (2)   A certified copy of national ID card/ passport (main advisor)

              (3)   A certified copy of the house registration (main advisor)

              (4)   Copy of publications (main advisor)

 

4. The Number of Scholarships

       4.1  Master’s Degree level: 10 scholarships

       4.2  Doctoral Degree level: 10 scholarships

 

5. Eligible Candidates

        5.1  The eligible candidates must have qualifications stated in No.1 and No. 2.

        5.2  The eligible candidates are approved by the scholarship committee to deserve the scholarship.

 

6. Period of Scholarship Granting

        6.1  The Master’s Degree will not be granted for more than 2 academic years

        6.2  The Doctoral Degree from Master’s Degree holder will not be granted for more than 3 academic years

        6.3   The Doctoral Degree from Bachelor’s Degree holder will not be granted for more than 5 academic years

        The scholarship recipients will receive a tuition grant according to the applied programme from the semester that the scholarship is approved to the last semester of the programme.

 8. The Scholarship’s Conditions

         8.1  The scholarship recipients must sign an agreement contract with the university as provided by the university.

         8.2  The scholarship recipients must maintain regular student status throughout the period of the scholarship.

         8.3  The scholarship recipients must submit grade reports and progress reports on their thesis/dissertation to the university (Office of Postgraduate Studies) by the end of every semester during the scholarship period. And, both documents must be approved by the main advisor.

         8.4  The scholarship recipients’ thesis/dissertation must be published in journals that appear in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) or Web of Science (ISI) in Q1 or Q2 with the following requirements:

                (a) At least 1 publication for Master’s Degree

                (b) At least 2 publications for Doctoral Degree

                The publications must have the scholarship recipients as the first author, the main advisor as the corresponding author and Mae Fah Luang University as the affiliation.

                (c) The scholarship recipients must mention the scholarship in the thesis/dissertation’s acknowledgement: “Thank you the Postgraduate Scholarship for Tuition Fees from Mae Fah Luang University”.

 

9. Termination of Scholarship

        The university will terminate the scholarship should any of the following occur:

        9.1  The scholarship recipients retire from their student status.

        9.2  The scholarship recipients receive a GPAX lower than 3.25 for two consecutive semesters or receives a U grade in the subject of thesis/dissertation in any semester.

        9.3  The scholarship recipients fail to follow the scholarship’s conditions stated in No. 8.

        9.4  The scholarship recipients take leave or have an educational break without a reasonable explanation.

        9.5 The scholarship recipients cheat on an examination or commit plagiarism.

        9.6  The university will terminate the scholarship in any other case considered appropriate by the university.

 

10. Application for Scholarships

        10.1  The scholarship applicants download the Postgraduate Scholarship for Tuition Fees Application Form at http://postgrads.mfu.ac.th in Scholarships News section and submit
the Application Form within the period specified in No. 7.

Scholarship Criteria for Graduate Students

 

Big Data analytics and smart computing are emerging fields that have recently drawn much attention from research communities in computer science, information technology, social science, and many other disciplines.

The International Conference on Big Data Analytics and Practices (IBDAP 2021), initiated by Government Big Data Institute (GBDi), provides an international forum for exchanging ideas and information on current progresses, challenges, research results, system developments, and practical experiences in these emerging fields.

IBDAP calls for submission of work from a wide range of domains, including but not limited to smart systems (e.g. in cities, automobiles, farms, etc.), cyber-physical systems, Internet of Things applications, healthcare, social networks, and media.
